Cerabaag, offers an ideal place for imaginative expressions in ceramic pottery art. It is located in the lush green and sylvan surroundings of a village, a few miles away from Thiruvananthapuram (formerly Trivandrum), the capital of Kerala state in South India. Cerabaag has carved a niche in the field since its inception in 2003. It functions under the patronage of Byju SR, a renowned sculptor of India. With graduation in Sculpture (Govt. College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram) and Post-graduation in Ceramics (MS University of Baroda) he has regularly been participating in the exhibitions and workshops held in India and abroad.
Coupled with a futuristic vision, his forty years of experience in the field both as an artist and ceramic expert come to set a broader mission of the Cerabaag in order to widen the sphere of visual sensibility and artistic culture. With this orientation, we shoulder ourselves a deep-felt responsibility to promote ceramic art through education, research and creative practices in various means and forms in modest practical terms.
Endless are the artistic mediums available across the world today. However, apart from its presence in the domestic atmosphere as utensils or curios, ceramic still largely remains unexplored as an immensely potential medium for creative expression. Ceerabag therefore wishes to develop, disseminate and deepen a new approach to art and life going in tune with contemporary visual sensibilities.

Cerabaag includes courses and workshops for the art professionals, art students, children and hobbyists. The way courses are structured and held at various phases will ensure learning in a soothing mood. Blue-sky research/experiments as well as those directed ones in the complex technical processes will be held to the extent of developing the sleight of hand with expertise, so that one will be able to construct an image the way one conceives of it. To reach this point of expression, Cerabaag sets the stage for theoretical conception and practical experiments. In this sense Cerabaag wishes to say that it offers an ideal home for the creative minds flying in the blue sky.

Cerabaag is concerned with a self-imposed mission which can be cryptically laid down as follows:
